Day 1
Nairobi to Amboseli
Met by our team outside the customs hall and briefed on your safari. Drive south to Amboseli National Park at the foothills of Mt Kilimanjaro, check in at the lodge and enjoy an afternoon game drive until sundown.
Day 2
Amboseli
A full day in the park with morning and afternoon game drives.
Day 3
Amboseli to the Aberdares
Game drive en route to Nairobi, lunch, then on to the Aberdares in the Central Highlands. Moorland and forest rise as high as 3,930 m. Transfer into the forest for the famous tree-hotel, where game viewing is from the terrace over a floodlit waterhole.
Day 4
Aberdares to Samburu
Rejoin your guide and drive north through Timau and Isiolo to the semi-arid country of Samburu, with its lodge on the shores of the Uaso Nyiro river.
Day 5
Samburu
Early-morning and late-afternoon game drives. Home to species found nowhere else on the circuit: reticulated giraffe, Grevy’s zebra, Beisa oryx, the blue-necked Somali ostrich and the gerenuk. An optional visit to a traditional Samburu or Borana village.
Day 6
Samburu to Mt Kenya
To the Mount Kenya region and Sweetwaters Tented Camp, in a 24,000-acre reserve with views to the snow-capped peaks. Home to the big five, with the highest game-to-area ratio of any Kenyan reserve, a chimpanzee sanctuary and Morani the tame black rhino.
Day 7
Mt Kenya to Lake Nakuru
A scenic stop at Nyahururu Falls, then Lake Nakuru National Park: a shallow alkaline lake in the Rift Valley, famous for flamingos and Kenya’s first rhino sanctuary, with both white and black rhino.
Day 8
Lake Nakuru to the Masai Mara
Through Narok to Sekenani and into the reserve. The Mara is a natural extension of the Serengeti, famous for its assemblage of plains game and their predators, in a country of breath-taking vistas.
Days 9–10
Masai Mara
Early-morning game drives followed by breakfast at camp, then mid-morning and afternoon drives with your resident driver-guide.
Day 11
Masai Mara to Nairobi
Drive to Nairobi for a farewell lunch at the Carnivore restaurant before your evening flight home.
