Cameroon

We are fortunate to offer both rain-forest and savannah hunting. From bongo to Lord Derby eland — not to forget dwarf and savannah buffalo, roan, elephant, korrigum, duikers and many more — the areas we run have been producing great trophy quality for years.

Our play ground in the north is rolling hills with light forest, grass savannah and small mountains: the ideal biome for the majestic Lord Derby eland, as well as savannah buffalo, western roan and elephant. Cameroon is not the easiest tourism destination, but for the adventurous, gorillas are spotted every week in the rain forest while hunting with pygmy trackers.

The safaris

  1. 01

    Option A12 days (1×1) or 14 days (2×1)

    Lord Derby eland

One Lord Derby eland, one additional primary species and four secondary species. The usual way to hunt is to walk or drive looking for a fresh track and follow it on foot until we find the animal you are after; sometimes it can be spotted and stalked.

  2. 02

    Option B12 days

    Lion or elephant

One lion, one additional primary species and four secondary species, hunted with your dedicated PH and his team of trackers and gun bearers.

  3. 03

    Option C6 days

    Secondary species

Four secondary species on a shorter safari — a way into West African hunting at a gentler commitment.

  4. 04

    On requestForest concession

    Rain-forest bongo

One of the very few places on earth where bongo are hunted spot-and-stalk and with dogs, alongside dwarf buffalo and forest sitatunga. Dates and programme on request.

Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Arrive in Douala

VIP meet & greet at the aircraft and a night at the Pullman Hotel or equivalent. Most use Air France (daily to Douala) or Brussels Airlines (five flights a week).

  2. Day 2

    To Ngaoundéré

Transfer back to the airport for your Camair-Co domestic flight to Ngaoundéré, then on to camp.

  3. Hunting days

    Six to fourteen days

Depending on the option you choose.

  4. Last day

    Road transfer and flight

A morning road transfer to Ngaoundéré to catch the Camair-Co flight back to Douala, where the same VIP assistance gets you to your hotel or international flight. We recommend booking the international flight for the day after you return.

Camp & lodge

A typical West African hunting camp of traditional chalets called boukarou, each with a private en-suite bathroom and a mosquito net over every bed. A generator supplies electricity so you can charge batteries at night. Meals are taken in the camp mess, prepared by a former French consulate chef.

Deposits, balances and conditions are confirmed on your quote and contract. We never publish prices; every safari is quoted for your party, dates and species.

Trophy export, done properly

  • Repatriating trophies from West and Central Africa can be difficult, so we have this very well covered. All Cameroon trophies transit first through France, from where they are shipped around the world.
  • Export includes field preparation, all Cameroonian documents (harvest certificate, certificate of origin, CITES permit where applicable, veterinary certificate), packing, crating and customs clearance in Cameroon.
  • When you confirm your safari we put you in touch with our shipping agent so that no time is wasted.
  • Carry six copies of your firearm import permit, passport photo page and Cameroon visa.
